The holiday season is approaching and we have made the resolution to share with you some DIY gift ideas.

Here is, to start, a relatively inexpensive idea since you can find pretty white porcelain at Dollarama.

For painting, the tutorial where the photos come from hijack Sharpie markers. However, we recommend that you use specialized markers for painting on porcelain (Omer de Serre sells Pebeos). This gives you the guarantee that the paint is edible and that you can wash it in the dishwasher. If you are an aspiring artist, we recommend that you use markers rather than paint as these are easier to handle and master than a brush.

Make sure your dishes are clean before you begin to make sure there is no dust marring your design.

No need to get complicated and don't hesitate to make your life easier by using a stencil, for example:

It's the "handmade" side that is cute, so don't worry if it doesn't look perfect!

Once your artwork is finished, all you have to do is put it in the oven (according to the porcelain paint manufacturer's instructions) in order to fix the paint.
